I'm excited to announce a collaboration between myself and my friends at keyboardio: we will be working together to produce the Keyboardio Atreus! See the Kickstarter campaign.
The Keyboardio Atreus will be sold as a fully-assembled keyboard rather than a DIY kit. Despite this, the launch price will be lower than that of the existing Atreus kit.
The key differences from the original Atreus are:
- 15mm smaller in two dimensions
- metal switch plate and injection-molded case
- 2 extra keys (backtick and backslash will no longer need fn)
- detachable USB cable
- default firmware is Kaleidoscope (QMK will still work)
- cherry-MX-compatible switches in sockets (replaceable without soldering)
- labels on keycaps
We're excited to be working with them to offer this improved keyboard at a lower cost which will make it so that a much wider range of people can get their hands on an Atreus.
